Terms & Conditions (T&C’s)
These Terms & Conditions apply to all participants of Te Māhuri. All participants (including parents/caregivers of participants under 16 years of age) must read, understand and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
I desire to participate in the Te Māhuri program and understand the following.
Purapura Whetu Trust (PW) & Adventure Specialties Trust (AST): Te Māhuri is a youth serving, community based organisation dedicated to providing a kaupapa Māori rangatahi adventure therapy programme.
Participation in the organisation’s programme is subject to the observance of the organisation’s rules and procedures. Any participant or staff member who violates these T&C’s are subject to disciplinary procedures, including removal/instant removal from the programme.
Code of Conduct
The activities below are strictly prohibited:
- Failure to follow organisation policy or procedure.
- Failure to cooperate with Kaimahi/Programme Coordinator.
- Discourtesy or rudeness, verbal, physical or visual harassment, abusive language or behaviour, bullying, and actual or threatened violence towards fellow participants, Kaimahi/Programme Coordinators or the general public.
- Conduct endangering the life, safety, health or wellbeing of others.
- Possession or use of alcohol or illegal drugs during programmes, or attending programmes while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
- Bringing to Te Māhuri any dangerous or unauthorized materials such as explosives, firearms, weapons and other similar items.
- Recording any of the above on a camera, smartphone or other device.
- Deliberate or malicious damage caused to gear or property.
I agree to reimburse the cost of any deliberate or malicious damage caused to gear or property.
Attendance & Transportation
For parents/caregivers of participants:
I give permission for my child/young person to attend Te Māhuri and authorise PW & AST representative/s to:
- Collect & drop off my child/young person from their school.
- Transport my child/young person to and from scheduled activities.
- Ensure my child/young person is ready and waiting at the designated areas for pickup at the specified time.
- Accept withdrawal from the programme should my child/young person miss two consecutive sessions without notification.
Release of information
I give permission for representatives of PW & AST to consult with or request information of a personal nature from any person, Organisation or Agency.
I agree that my information will be added to PW & AST databases so that I can be informed of other activities being held by PW & AST.
Medical Consent
While recognising that PW & AST will be doing their best to ensure safety and manage the risks inherent in the activities I am participating in:
- I accept responsibility for my own actions and safety.
- I authorise PW & AST to administer “over-the-counter” medication as required and within the manufacturer’s guidelines.
- I acknowledge that in the event of an accident or illness, I authorise the obtaining of such medical assistance thought necessary by the staff of PW & AST and at my expense. This may include administration of adrenaline for suspected anaphylactic shock.
Photography & Video
- I understand and consent to representatives of PW & AST capturing photographs and videos that I may be included in during the programme.
- I consent to PW & AST sharing this content for promotional purposes and with stakeholders for funding and data collection.
- I am aware that PW & AST will respect my privacy and will not share my personal details on public forums.
Complaints
If you have a grievance with our staff, safety or the delivery of this programme please contact juanita@pw.maori.nz who will advise you of the complaints process.
Agreement
- I have read, understand and agree to Te Māhuri’s Terms & Conditions.
- I agree to abide by the rules and regulations set by PW & AST and understand that I may be removed from the programme should I violate any of these rules.
