The purpose of the Whānau Ora Kaitūwhana service is to support whānau to achieve their aspirations. Navigators assist whānau to set long-term goals and plans, and encourage whānau to draw from their strengths in working towards these.
Kaitūwhana apply a kaupapa Māori approach while providing a range of services for the whole whānau, connecting whānau with other services and helping to advocate on their behalf. They take a unique approach that is responsive to the circumstances and needs of each whānau and ensures whānau rangatiratanga is at the forefront.
